A Multilayer Vibration Pad is a vibration isolation pad that consists of multiple laminated layers of resilient pad separated by solid elements, usually a metal plate. Multiple laminated layers tailors the design of an isolator to suit the isolation requirements of a particular application. It is conveniently based on the modular build-up of a singular resilient/solid element. The more elements, the better the isolation.
The inclusion of metal laminate(s) between resilient pads serves to allow the multilayer vibration pad to compress to the required displacements for increasingly better isolation, without the undue distortion or bulging of an equivalent single resilient element block.
